A Garden of Serenity

gardenyoga

If you’re anything like us, your days are pretty hectic (sometimes even when you’re on vacation), and it can be hard to unwind. Yoga has been a big help to us, and now that spring is once again in full bloom, there’s no better place to enjoy yoga than among the tranquil surroundings of the OSU Botanic Garden. Every Thursday evening in May from 5:30 to 6:15, Yoga Therapist Carol Bender will be at the Botanic Garden to help you release tension and worry and embrace the healing serenity of nature. Each session will include a centering practice, gentle stretches, and guided relaxation techniques. All are welcome at these free events, though you will need to bring your own mat and bottle of water (and perhaps some sunscreen and insect repellent, if you’re so inclined). Before and after the class, you can enjoy a soothing stroll through the lush splendor of the gardens themselves, which Oklahomans will recognize from the long-running local television series "Oklahoma Gardening."

Location: OSU Botanic Garden, at the lower (east) lawn of the Display Gardens near the vegetable garden
