Root for the Home Team

Oklahoma State University Football Stadium at Night with Bright Lights

An Afternoon that's Ready for Football

In Northeastern Oklahoma a little game called football takes pride of place among local and international fans alike, and that includes the supportive community of Stillwater. Because the historic Atherton Hotel is located smack dab in the middle of the University it’s the perfect place to depart from for the game.

Every third Friday, and whenever there’s a home match at Oklahoma State University’s Stadium, you’ll find the corner of 7th & Main Street bustling with pre-game activity and family-friendly festivities. Known as Fridays, Food Trucks & Fun this downtown party has live entertainment, a beverage garden, and a kids zone with bouncy inflatables and so much more!

Things get going around 6 o’clock in the evening (September 9th, 16th, and 30th) and don't begin to wrap up until later in the evening. Don’t forget to bring a lawn chair or blanket and be prepared to cheer for the Cowboys. As always, the best way to blend in is to sport the home team's color— so dig out those orange tees and bring your game face.
