The National Wrestling Hall of Fame: An Ancient Sport and a Stillwater Tradition
In a region dominated by the powerhouse athletics of Oklahoma State University, football is probably the first thing most visitors envision when they think of Stillwater and sports. What you may not realize is that Stillwater is also home to the National Wrestling Hall of Fame and Museum, located less than a mile from our hotel. Following a major multi-million dollar renovation, the Hall of Fame and Museum reopened one year ago with many exciting additions, including electronic kiosks, hands-on exhibits, and footage from every NCAA Championship from the past eighty years. Explore the vast array of wrestling artifacts from across the globe, including portraits of every gold-medal Olympian wrestler to represent the United States and the largest collection of Olympic and collegiate wrestling attire anywhere. You’ll also be able to take advantage of the William S. Hein Library, which houses many rare books and papers documenting the rich history of the sport from around the world.
